Site Engineer - Major Infrastructure | West London
Freelance | £400-£450/day | Inside IR35 (Umbrella PAYE) | 12-Month Contract
The Opportunity
We are recruiting an experienced Site Engineer to join a major civil engineering project in West London (Northolt). This is a long-term freelance opportunity on a high-profile infrastructure scheme, offering a day rate of £400-£450 per day on a 12-month contract, engaged Inside IR35 via Umbrella PAYE.
The Role
You will be embedded within a busy site team, working alongside Section Engineers and General Foremen to deliver a drainage and earthworks/civils package. Day-to-day, you will be responsible for:
- Planning and producing sketches, methodologies and procedures during mobilisation
- Setting up and coordinating work sites to ensure safe and efficient delivery
- Working with subcontractors to ensure timely preparation and implementation of RAMs, ITPs, Permits and Consents
- Implementing Permit to Dig, Temporary Works and other safety systems
- Setting out on site using total station
- Carrying out and recording quality checks in accordance with ITPs
- Managing non-conformances through to close-outlt
- Updating the 4-week programme and managing the supply chain
- Identifying scope changes and supporting the wider project team
- Liaising with Community Relations, Highways and Logistics teams as required
Health, Safety & Environment
You will champion a safety-first culture on site, ensuring HS&E policies are communicated and implemented across the workforce, and working collaboratively with all contractors and subcontractors to achieve project goals.
Requirements
- Degree (or equivalent) in Civil / Environmental Engineering or related discipline
- Proven experience on civil engineering or major infrastructure projects
- Competent in setting out using total station
- Sound knowledge of temporary works, quality management and permit systems
- Valid CSCS Card
- SMSTS
- Strong communication and coordination skills
