We are currently recruiting an experienced Civil Operative (Competent Person) for a long-term substation project in Melksham. The successful candidate must hold NSI 6 & 8 and have proven experience working within live HV substation environments.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Civil Operative (Competent Person) - NSI 6 & 8
- Experience working as a groundworker within substation environments
- Strong understanding of NG NSI Safety Rules
- HSG 47 trained (avoidance of underground services)
- Experience managing access to live HV substations
- Responsible for ensuring safe access and egress of delivery vehicles and plant to/from the substation
- Manual Handling certification
- Strong health & safety awareness
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing and controlling access within a live HV substation
- Ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with NG and site safety rules
- Coordinating safe movement of vehicles, plant, and deliveries
- Supporting civil works in line with groundworker requirements
