An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Site Engineer to join a major contractor delivering a flagship highways infrastructure scheme in Didcot. This is a key site-based role on a high-profile civil engineering project, offering long-term secured work, exposure to major packages, and strong career progression within a leading contractor environment.
The Role
We are looking for a Site Engineer to support delivery across core packages on the scheme, including structures, earthworks and drainage. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience across complex highways works, working closely with Site Agents, Sub Agents and the wider engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting out and surveying using GPS/Total Station equipment
- Ensuring works are delivered in line with drawings, specifications and programme
- Assisting with QA/QC processes including ITPs, check sheets and as-built records
- Supporting the preparation and review of RAMS and permits
- Monitoring subcontractor works and site progress
- Maintaining accurate site records, diaries and reports
- Assisting with design coordination and resolving technical queries
- Promoting high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance
Candidate Requirements
- Experience working as a Site Engineer within civil engineering or highways projects
- Exposure to structures, earthworks or drainage packages desirable
- Competent in setting out using Leica/Trimble or similar equipment
- Strong understanding of QA processes and site documentation
- CSCS card essential
- HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering (or similar) preferred
- Good communication and organisational skills
