I am working in partnership with a Tier One infrastructure contractor delivering major infrastructure projects across the UK. This is a senior leadership role within the technical services function and would suit an experienced Engineering Manager who thrives in complex, regulated project environments. This position sits at the heart of both work winning and project delivery, providing technical leadership, assurance and strategic input across multiple projects and engineering teams.
The role:
- Lead and manage the engineering function across assigned projects or sector
- Provide technical assurance across design, construction, commissioning and handover
- Support bid teams with technical input, risk identification and value engineering solutions
- Line manage Design Managers and oversee engineering capability across the supply chain
- Drive innovation, modern methods of construction and best practice engineering solutions
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, procedures and statutory requirements
- Act as a senior technical interface with clients, consultants and internal stakeholders
- Support the recruitment, development and retention of high calibre engineering talent
What they are looking for:
- Chartered Engineer or equivalent professional status
- Strong background across both design and construction within major civil engineering or infrastructure projects
- Proven experience leading engineering teams in a Tier One or large contractor environment
- Solid understanding of design assurance, technical risk and Principal Designer duties
- Commercially aware with experience supporting bids and pre-construction activity
- Confident leader who can influence, challenge and support teams at all levels
Salary: £85,000 to £110,000 plus package
