TRIbuild Solutions is recruiting a Senior Engineer to join a major civils and infrastructure programme at Sellafield - one of the UK's most significant and complex nuclear sites. This is a permanent role offering long-term career stability, a competitive salary of up to £75,000, and the chance to play a leading engineering role on nationally important infrastructure works.

As Senior Engineer, you will take ownership of all engineering activities within your designated area of responsibility, ensuring works are delivered safely, compliantly, and to programme. You will manage junior engineering staff, coordinate subcontractors and third-party teams, and work closely with foremen, commercial teams and client representatives to drive successful project delivery. This is a hands-on leadership role that demands strong technical ability, meticulous attention to compliance, and the confidence to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously on a live, security-controlled nuclear site.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, coordinate and manage all civils and infrastructure works within your area of responsibility, including subcontract and third-party activities.
- Produce and maintain detailed 3-week look-ahead programmes, monitoring progress against contract programme and reporting variances with recovery plans.
- Manage and mentor junior site engineers, overseeing their workloads and development.
- Ensure all permits, inductions, task briefs and site documentation are in place and approved before works commence.
- Maintain compliance with legal, company, and project-specific HSQE requirements; report incidents, near misses and non-compliances promptly.
- Produce and gain approval of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and temporary works documentation.
- Identify and record scope changes, delays and resource usage; provide accurate reports to line management and commercial teams.
- Raise and manage technical queries to resolve incomplete or erroneous design information.
- Ensure all documentation is correctly maintained and uploaded to project document control systems.
- Procure materials within area of responsibility, monitoring stock levels and reporting wastage.
- Proven experience as a Senior Site Engineer / Section Engineer / Senior Engineer on civils and/or infrastructure projects.
- Experience working within a nuclear, MOD, or other highly regulated/security-controlled environment is highly desirable.
- Solid understanding of construction standards, temporary works, and quality assurance processes.
- Experience producing and managing ITPs, NCRs and method statements.
- Strong programme management awareness and the ability to produce look-ahead schedules.
- Good commercial awareness, including subcontractor management and scope change identification.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate junior staff.
- Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (HNC/HND minimum; degree preferred).
- CSCS card and relevant HSQE certifications expected.
- Salary up to £75,000 depending on experience.
