Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our clients London operation, specialising in commercial construction and fit-out projects. You will play a key role in tendering, cost planning, and securing new work across a range of high-quality London-based projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial fit-out and construction projects across London
- Manage the full tender process from initial enquiry through to final submission
- Analyse drawings, specifications, and employer's requirements to identify risks and opportunities
- Source and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers familiar with the London market
- Produce detailed bills of quantities, cost plans, and tender reports
- Work closely with project managers, commercial teams, and directors during pre-construction
- Assess value engineering options and alternative proposals
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market rates, materials, and subcontractor pricing
- Support post-tender clarifications and handover to delivery teams
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Estimator within commercial construction and fit-out
- Strong track record of estimating London-based projects
- In-depth knowledge of London subcontractor markets, procurement routes, and pricing structures
- Ability to work on multiple tenders simultaneously to tight deadlines
- Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office
- Relevant construction qualification (preferred but not essential)
Desirable
- Experience with CAT A and CAT B fit-out projects
- Background working for a main contractor or specialist fit-out contractor
- Knowledge of JCT contracts
