We are currently seeking an experienced M&E Site Manager to support delivery works on a major National Grid transmission project based in Indian Queens, Cornwall, operating within live substation environments from 66kV-400kV. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong M&E professional with previous National Grid experience, TP137 exposure and a solid understanding of transmission procedures, safety and NEC contract delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage mechanical & electrical installation activities within live substation environments
- Oversee subcontractors, site safety and programme delivery
- Ensure works are delivered in line with National Grid procedures and HSE standards
- Coordinate permits, RAMS, temporary works and site logistics
- Liaise with project teams, engineers and client representatives
- Support quality assurance, inspections and handover activities
Essential Requirements
- NG Competent Person
- NSI 6 & 8 Full
- Previous experience within Electricity Transmission / National Grid projects
- Competent working within 66kV-400kV substations
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies within transmission environments
- NEC contract knowledge
- HSE legislation knowledge and training
- Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification
- IT literate
- Previously or currently authorised to National Grid TP137 including impressed voltage awareness
- Knowledge of CDM Regulations
- SMSTS / NEBOSH / IOSH
- Temporary Works Supervisor
- HSG47 or equivalent
- 3 Day First Aid
Desirable
- Strong working knowledge of National Grid transmission procedures
Mandatory
- National Grid Person status
- Manual Handling certification
