The Role
We are recruiting for a permanent Site / Setting Out Engineer to join an established civil engineering contractor delivering infrastructure and groundworks scheme in Inverness, Highlands. This is a hands-on site-based role, well suited to an engineer with strong GPS setting out experience and a background in earthworks, earthmoving and reinforced concrete / foundations. You’ll be working closely with site management and subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely, accurately and to programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting out using GPS and traditional surveying equipment
- Supporting delivery of bulk earthworks, cut & fill and earthmoving operations
- Setting out and QA for foundations, RC structures and associated civils works
- Checking line, level and alignment of works on site
- Interpreting construction drawings and specifications
- Maintaining accurate site records, as-built information and surveys
- Liaising with Site Managers, Project Managers and subcontractors
- Ensuring works are carried out in line with health & safety standards
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Site Engineer or Setting Out Engineer
- Strong GPS setting out capability (Trimble / Leica or similar)
- Proven background in earthworks, earthmoving and foundations / RC works
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
- Good understanding of site QA procedures
- CSCS card (minimum)
- Full UK driving licence
