Design Engineer in Cricklade

Design Engineer | Major Infrastructure Programme | Swindon

I am working in partnership with a Tier One infrastructure contractor delivering a long term civil engineering programmes across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for a Design Engineer looking to take on a key technical role within a complex, regulated project environment.

The role sits within the technical services function and will suit someone who enjoys working closely with design consultants, construction teams and wider project stakeholders to ensure high quality, compliant design delivery.

The role

• Act as the technical lead for permanent works design on assigned projects
• Manage design consultants and coordinate their activities and deliverables
• Ensure design outputs are delivered in line with programme and client requirements
• Manage technical queries, design comments and requests for further information
• Review design deliverables and drawings to ensure compliance with scope and standards
• Maintain and update design deliverable schedules and monthly progress reporting
• Support BIM and digital engineering requirements for permanent and temporary works
• Interface closely with construction teams to ensure buildability and coordination
• Support temporary works design processes in line with project procedures

What they are looking Couldbe Possibly for

• Background in civil engineering design within major infrastructure or heavy civils projects
• Experience working with design consultants in a contractor-led environment
• Good understanding of CDM and Principal Designer duties
• Confident managing technical queries, interfaces and design assurance activities
• Exposure to BIM and digital engineering practices
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, proactive approach
