TRIBU Search has been exclusively retained to identify and appoint a Group Financial Controller for an international natural resources group entering an exciting new phase of growth.

Having experienced significant operational expansion, with several new operations expected to come on stream over the coming years, the business is now investing in the finance capability required to support a larger, more complex international organisation.

Reporting directly to the Group CFO, this appointment combines technical excellence with the opportunity to influence the future development of the finance function.

The Opportunity

This is considerably more than a traditional Group Financial Controller position.

  • The successful individual will play a leading role in helping the business:
  • Strengthen Group financial reporting, IFRS consolidation and statutory compliance.
  • Enhance financial controls, governance and reporting processes.
  • Improve finance systems and identify opportunities to increase efficiency through technology and automation.
  • Develop and mentor an established finance team.
  • Support audit readiness and continued governance improvements.
  • Build a scalable finance function capable of supporting significant international growth.

The role offers genuine scope to influence how finance operates across the Group whilst remaining closely involved in execution.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re interested in speaking with finance leaders who combine strong technical capability with a pragmatic, delivery-focused approach.

The finance function remains relatively lean, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys balancing strategic leadership with a hands‑on style.

Your experience is likely to include

  • Listed company or international Group financial reporting.
  • IFRS, statutory reporting and Group consolidations.
  • Financial controls, governance and audit.
  • Finance transformation, systems implementation or process improvement.
  • Leadership and development of finance teams.
  • Multi‑entity and international organisations.

Experience within mining, natural resources, oil & gas or other asset‑intensive sectors would be advantageous, although candidates from other listed environments with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.

The Business

This appointment reflects the evolution of a successful business rather than the need to repair an underperforming finance function.

As the organisation grows, the finance team is evolving alongside it—strengthening reporting, governance, systems and processes to support a larger international business.

The successful candidate will work closely with an experienced CFO and have the opportunity to help shape the finance function over the coming years, with genuine scope to assume increasing responsibility as the business continues to develop.

Location

This is an international appointment.

The role is advertised in London to maximise visibility amongst UK‑listed finance professionals; however, the successful candidate will be required to relocate internationally on a full‑time basis.

A comprehensive relocation package will be provided.

This assignment is being managed exclusively by

TRIBU Search on a retained basis. All enquiries will be treated in the strictest confidence.
