Location: UK / Remote Hybrid, occasional Client Sessions

Type: Full-time, permanent

Reports to: Leadership / CTO / Operations

Role purpose: We are looking for a highly capable UK-based Senior Project Manager / Delivery Manager to bring stronger control, visibility, and accountability across software delivery. This person will lead complex client projects directly while also helping improve delivery standards, project governance, budget control, forecasting, and communication across the wider PM function. This role is critical to reducing delivery risk, protecting margins, and improving client confidence. We need someone who is commercially aware, confident with clients, and able to spot issues early rather than after they become expensive.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead delivery of digital and software projects from kick-off through to launch and handover
  • Own project planning, timelines, milestones, risks, dependencies, resourcing, and communication
  • Drive strong budget tracking and commercial awareness across projects, including early identification of scope drift, delivery risk, and margin pressure
  • Work closely with technical leads, engineers, designers, and leadership to ensure delivery remains realistic and controlled
  • Act as a confident client-facing point of contact, managing expectations clearly and professionally
  • Escalate issues early with clear options and recommended actions rather than allowing problems to build
  • Strengthen project governance, reporting cadence, forecasting, and internal delivery discipline
  • Help improve consistency across the PM team, including planning quality, project controls, meeting standards, and risk management
  • Support better change control and documentation on fixed-price and scope-sensitive work
  • Ensure projects are run in a predictive, proactive way rather than reactive firefighting mode
  • Contribute to weekly delivery reviews and help leadership see the true state of projects clearly

What good looks like:

  • Project risks surfaced earlier and managed better
  • More accurate project visibility for leadership
  • Stronger client confidence and fewer delivery disputes
  • Better budget control and margin protection
  • PMs held to clearer standards and expectations
  • More consistent project planning and reporting across the business

Ideal background:

  • Strong experience as a Senior Project Manager, Delivery Manager, or Programme Manager in a digital agency, software consultancy, or product delivery environment
  • Proven track record managing complex software/web projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Comfortable managing fixed-price, discovery-led, and time-and-materials engagements
  • Strong commercial instincts with experience managing budgets, change requests, and delivery trade-offs
  • Able to challenge teams and clients constructively when needed
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong grasp of delivery processes, dependencies, and risk management
  • Confident operating in a fast-moving business where priorities can shift

Preferred experience:

  • Experience managing distributed / nearshore technical teams
  • Exposure to web builds, platforms, integrations, and custom software projects
  • Familiarity with ClickUp, Pipedrive, Jira, Confluence, or similar
  • Experience helping level up weaker PM practices or mentoring more junior PMs

Personal profile:

  • Direct, calm, and credible
  • Highly organised and commercially switched on
  • Comfortable holding the line with clients when needed
  • Strong sense of ownership
  • Predictive thinker who spots problems early
  • Pragmatic, resilient, and delivery-focused
