Practice Accountant
Location: Southgate, N14 6HF
Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 (DOE)
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Working Hours: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday

Our client is a well-established and growing organisation within the Accounting and Taxation industry, looking to recruit a Practice Accountant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong technical skills and a keen eye for detail to develop within a supportive and progressive environment.
The Role
You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting a range of accounting activities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Duties will include:
Recording day-to-day financial transactions and completing the posting process
Reconciling bank accounts, sales taxes, and payroll taxes monthly
Supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings
Preparing small company accounts in line with FRS 102
Completing VAT returns using Xero and similar systems
Managing payroll processes using BrightPay and Payroll Manager.
Handling general administrative duties, including emails and phone enquiries
Requirements
Essential
Minimum of 2 years' experience in accounting or a related field
Strong working knowledge of Xero and QuickBooks
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Desirable
Experience using BrightPay
Familiarity with FRS 102 small company accounts preparation
Relevant higher education qualification
