Position: Permanent Way Team Member (Rail Track Operative) – Midland Metro Ltd, Wednesbury Depot, Potters Lane, WS10 0AR.

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary: £31,241 per annum.
  • Benefits include MML Salary Sacrifice Pension, 25 Days Annual Leave, and free travel on Tram & NX Bus for you and your partner.

Contract: Full time, Permanent.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out all maintenance and repairs to the West Midlands Metro Permanent Way equipment.
  • Ensure inspection and maintenance tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed following the correct procedures.
  • Report all work activities and faults to the Permanent Way Team.
  • Complete all relevant maintenance recordings in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the oversight of contractors carrying out planned works.
  • Assist in the commissioning of new systems.
  • Assist with the switching of electrical substations.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the Asset Management Information System.
  • Continuously assess and improve working practices, embracing new technologies.

Qualifications:

  • A full clean UK driving licence.
  • Experience within a safety critical engineering industry.
  • Experience in effectively working as part of a team, with the ability to effectively make decisions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail.

Desired Skills:

  • A good working knowledge of rail or light rail infrastructure permanent way or a mechanical engineering environment, Military Engineering disciplines.
  • Ability to drive various plant machinery.
  • Competence of Permanent Way maintenance practices.
  • Experience in the use of gauges and other measurement equipment.
