Monaghans Ltd are recruiting for a Building Regulations Consultant. Location: Based from our Sheffield office, S4 7YA. Contract: Full time, Permanent. Applicants must have the right to remain in the UK indefinitely as this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Monaghans provide dynamic multi-disciplinary building consultancy services delivering quality professional expertise and advice to clients across a diverse range of business sectors throughout the UK and Europe. An opportunity exists for an experienced Building Control professional from an Approved Inspector or Local Authority Building Control background to join our Sheffield office to work as a Building Regulations Consultant in the Commercial, Residential, Leisure and Retail sectors throughout England & Wales.
Responsibilities
- Provide Principal Designer (Building Regulations) services to our clients.
- Lead and chair online and in-person workshops with designers to help them comply with their duty holder roles; strong people management and leadership skills are an advantage.
- Deliver training for other team members to train them in building regulation compliance and management.
- Provide Building Safety Act consultancy advice and Client advisor services to clients to help them comply with their duties.
- Support training and development of others to carry out building regulations compliance checks and management.
- Apply a detailed and in-depth understanding of Building Regulations including Fire Safety, with desktop technical auditing, plans checking and compliance management.
Ideal Candidate / Qualifications
- MRICS or MCABE or CIOB (Level 4 Diploma in Building Control Surveying) qualified.
- Qualifications as Registered Building Inspectors (RBCI) Class 1, 2A to F, 3G & H and 4 will be considered but are not essential as the candidate will be working as Principal Designer (Building Regulations).
- Strong knowledge base including building control approvals and consultancy.
- Strong IT capabilities including Microsoft Office and Tablet & Mobile data collection.
- Delivery of work outputs within set time frames and commercial goals.
- Commitment, enthusiasm and a strong work ethic; team player with a flexible approach; energetic and self-motivated.
