Founded in 1912, Elmelin is a specialist industrial insulation manufacturer based in Walthamstow, East London. We manufacture specialist heat insulation products using the raw material Mica. We are seeking a Process Engineer to join our team. This is a hands-on role offering the opportunity to influence process improvement, developing quality standards, improving equipment performance and developing maintenance planning and strategy.
What You’ll Do
- Develop, review, and improve manufacturing processes to ensure process safety, process stability, equipment reliability, and site quality compliance
- Create and maintain Process Control Plans, Process Flow documentation, and SOPs
- Lead and support risk assessments, safe systems of work, and capability studies
- Work closely with Maintenance and Manufacturing teams to ensure maintenance, inspection, and calibration activities support process capability and product quality
- Support capital investment, capacity planning, and engineering proposals, including cost estimation
- Drive improvements in efficiency, reliability, and product quality using Continuous Improvement tools
What We’re Looking For
- A self-motivated, organised engineer with strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively across operations, maintenance, and quality.
- Confident communicating with stakeholders at all levels and influencing to ensure safety and quality standards are met.
- HNC or equivalent experience in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, Electronics, or Chemical Engineering
- Experience in a similar role within a complex manufacturing environment
- Experience with process control and process improvement
- Risk assessment experience, ideally in a high-hazard or process industry
- IOSH or NEBOSH Certificate
