Maintenance Technician Light Rail

Location: Midland Metro Ltd, Wednesbury Depot, Potters Lane, WS10 0AR
Salary: GBP36,501 GBP41,153 (plus increases after probation)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent, 12-hour shifts (4 on, 4 off)
Benefits: Overtime available + 25 Days Annual Leave + Free travel for you and your partner (Tram & NX Bus) + MML Salary Sacrifice Pension

What You ll Be Doing

  • Carrying out preventative and corrective maintenance on our modern fleet of trams
  • Diagnosing faults across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, using advanced diagnostics tools
  • Supporting the testing and commissioning of new vehicles as they enter service
  • Keeping detailed records and contributing to continuous improvement

What You ll Bring

  • Solid experience maintaining high-value, safety-critical systems (from automotive, HGV, LGV, aerospace, or engineering)
  • Diagnostic skills and a sharp eye for identifying faults and solving technical problems
  • A positive, safety-first mindset and attention to detail

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • An ONC or Apprenticeship in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
  • An NVQ Level 3 in a relevant engineering field
