About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to join an established practice and help grow out a CFO practice. As a Principal Consultant in their CFO Practice, you will play a pivotal role in delivering board and C-suite retained search mandates for private equity and venture capital-backed growth companies, as well as for mid-to-large cap public and private firms. This is a highly entrepreneurial position for an experienced headhunter with a track record of success in placing CFOs. You will act as a trusted advisor to clients, driving leadership talent solutions and fostering deep, long-term relationships with investors and portfolio companies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver end-to-end C-suite and senior leadership search assignments (with a focus on CFO mandates), from client briefing through to successful placement.
  • Advise board-level and executive clients on leadership competencies, succession planning, team build-outs post-investment, and inclusive talent strategies.
  • Manage multiple concurrent mandates, ensuring the highest standards of execution and client service.
  • Drive business development by nurturing and expanding existing client relationships, and identifying new opportunities within PE, VC, and portfolio company networks.
  • Utilise a data-driven approach to market mapping, talent intelligence, and candidate assessment.
  • Contribute to company best practices and knowledge sharing, supporting the scale-up of the CFO Practice and overall firm growth.
  • Represent at industry events and through thought leadership initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of senior level recruitment/executive search experience, ideally with a focus on CFO and finance leadership roles within the life sciences, healthtech, or adjacent sectors.

  • Strong commercial acumen, with a consistent record of billing and managing fee values in the £40k–£100k range per search.
  • Energetic, hands-on, and highly collaborative approach; thrives in fast-paced, high-growth, entrepreneurial environments.
  • Exceptional relationship-building, influencing, and advisory skills at C-suite and board level.
  • Experience operating across the UK, EMEA, and US markets is highly desirable.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with a track record of success in both boutique and established search environments.

  • Performance-related incentives and clear progression path.
  • LTIP Scheme and significant opportunity for wealth creation
  • Opportunity to join a nimble, high-calibre team with ambitious growth goals and high standards.
