We are on the lookout for a Head Chef to become part of our TRIBE community as we continue to make waves in London. Our first TRIBE hotel launched in summer 2022, and we are redefining what hospitality looks like for a new generation of travellers. Conceived for a new type of traveller, it’s all about the mix. Unapologetic modern designed hotels that confidently mix and match mainstream style with bespoke eye-catching and iconic pieces. The result is a bold and fun place for a high-end experience at a fair price. Finally, a place that gives you everything you need and nothing you don’t. Feels Like June is a California-inspired restaurant with bright flavours, summer feels and a Europe-meets-West Coast flair where our hotel guests and local residents meet to enjoy from breakfast to dinner, cocktails or just take a seat with a laptop and work from our lounge area.

We are looking for someone whose curious, caring and conscious attitude will play a crucial part in curating the TRIBE experience, which is defined through its authenticity and obsession in making sure everything is as seamless and functional as possible to make life that bit easier.

Job Description

  • Plan, create, innovate and develop menus that align with the brand concept and seasonal availability.
  • Ensure all dishes meet quality, taste and presentation standards.
  • Maintain consistency in food preparation and portion control.
  • Lead, train and motivate the kitchen team.
  • Foster a positive, efficient and professional kitchen culture.
  • Organise staff rotas, labour cost and workload effectively.
  • Conduct performance reviews and support staff development.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, H&S and hygiene regulations.
  • Monitor food costs, minimise waste and manage kitchen budget.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure quality and cost effectiveness.
  • Support special events, tastings and menu launch.
  • Work closely with F&B Manager.

Both guest and team experience will be at the heart of all you do. You’ll support your team by leading by example, keeping them involved and motivated; helping them feel empowered and supported, confident in providing the best TRIBE experiences for our guests and comfortable turning to you with questions.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef.
  • Strong culinary skills with relevant professional training (level 3 Food Safety & Hygiene certification or equivalent).
  • Commercially savvy, you know your way around a budget and forecast and have a strong understanding of the financial expectations of a successful restaurant and kitchen operation.
  • You are a natural at leading and managing a team, someone who creates a tight-knit community thanks to a hands-on management style and enthusiasm.
  • You are able to work under pressure and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
  • You are a born optimist, who always puts our guests, colleagues, and communities first.
  • You are your authentic self.
  • You are a courageous Entrepreneur and can turn your hands to anything and are not frightened to explore and experiment.
