The Role

We are recruiting a driven Sales Manager with proven Business Development skills to further grow sales of capital medical equipment across the North East of the UK and Scotland. The role will focus predominantly on the ENT and Gynaecology markets, building trusted relationships with clinical and commercial stakeholders and supporting customers through complex equipment purchasing decisions.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Take ownership of capital-equipment sales across the North East and Scotland territory.
  • Develop and manage relationships with NHS Trusts, private hospitals, clinicians, department leads, procurement teams and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify, qualify and progress new equipment opportunities from initial contact through to quotation, tender, demonstration, evaluation and sale.
  • Deliver professional product presentations, demonstrations and in-service support appropriate to customer requirements.
  • Manage a structured territory plan, pipeline and forecast, maintaining accurate customer and opportunity records.
  • Support tender submissions and purchasing processes, working closely with internal colleagues and suppliers where required.
  • Build awareness of the solution offerings within ENT and Gynaecology, while identifying appropriate cross-specialty opportunities.
  • Attend customer meetings, exhibitions and other relevant industry events.
  • Provide market intelligence, competitor feedback and sales-performance updates to management.
  • Ensure all activity is carried out professionally and in line with applicable company procedures and healthcare-sector requirements.

Territory: North East UK and Scotland. Regular travel throughout the territory is required, with occasional travel outside the region for meetings, training or events.

Candidate Profile

You will be a commercially minded, self-motivated sales professional who is comfortable managing a long and consultative capital-equipment sales cycle. You will be credible with clinical customers, organised in your approach and motivated by winning new business while developing lasting customer relationships.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Proven successful field-sales experience within medical devices, healthcare equipment or a closely related capital-equipment environment.
  • Operating Theatre experience.
  • Experience selling into NHS and/or private healthcare settings.
  • Demonstrable ability to manage complex sales opportunities involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong presentation, communication, negotiation and relationship-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage a geographic territory and maintain a disciplined sales pipeline.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable:

  • Experience in ENT, Gynaecology or an adjacent clinical specialty.
  • Experience of tendering, procurement frameworks or capital-equipment business cases.
  • Degree-level education or relevant commercial/clinical qualification.

Package

Basic salary: £50,000 per annum
Uncapped Commission: Double OTE
