The Opportunity

We’re working with an established digital agency in Essex looking to hire an experienced Paid Media Manager. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys the combination of hands-on paid media, strategy and client ownership. You’ll manage a portfolio of accounts across paid search and paid social, taking responsibility for performance and helping clients understand where their next opportunities for growth are. There’s a strong retail and e-commerce element, so experience with Google Shopping, Performance Max and commercially focused paid media campaigns would be particularly valuable. You’ll have support from a wider digital team, while retaining ownership of the strategy, client relationship and quality of work delivered across your accounts.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Owning paid media strategy across a portfolio of client accounts.
  • Managing campaigns across Google Ads and Meta Ads.
  • Working across paid search, paid social, Shopping and Performance Max.
  • Analysing campaign performance and identifying opportunities to improve ROAS, revenue and other commercial KPIs.
  • Leading regular client calls and communicating performance in a clear, commercially focused way.
  • Turning data into practical recommendations and next steps.
  • Briefing campaign activity and working with other specialists to get work delivered.
  • Reviewing and quality-checking campaigns, reports and recommendations.
  • Keeping clients proactively updated on performance and activity.
  • Staying close to developments across Google, Meta and the wider paid media landscape.
  • Using AI and automation where they can improve analysis, reporting or campaign workflows.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll already have solid experience managing paid media campaigns and be comfortable taking ownership of both performance and client relationships. Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • Strong hands-on Google Ads experience.
  • Good working knowledge of Meta Ads.
  • Experience managing multiple accounts or campaigns simultaneously.
  • Confidence working directly with clients or senior stakeholders.
  • Experience with Google Shopping and Performance Max.
  • An understanding of retail/e-commerce performance marketing.
  • Strong analytical skills and commercial awareness.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Confidence using platforms such as GA4 and Looker Studio.
  • The ability to turn campaign data into clear recommendations rather than simply reporting the numbers.
  • Agency experience would be useful, although we’re equally interested in people from strong in-house performance marketing backgrounds who are comfortable managing multiple priorities.

The Person

You’ll suit this role if you’re someone who likes taking ownership rather than waiting to be told what to do. You’ll be comfortable getting hands-on in an ad account, but equally happy presenting performance to a client, spotting opportunities and deciding what should happen next. You don’t need to be a technical tracking specialist, but you should understand the wider performance marketing picture and be curious about new platforms, automation and AI.

Package

Salary: Up to £40,000 depending on experience. The business offers a strong benefits package alongside hybrid working, with 2 days per week in the Essex office. This is a particularly good fit for a Paid Media Manager looking for a role that combines e-commerce, performance strategy, hands-on campaign management and genuine account ownership.
