About the Team
Our Cloud Solutions team works in close partnership with clients to design and implement secure, scalable, and efficient cloud architectures for the SITS:Vision platform — a market‑leading student information system used by universities and colleges globally. We help institutions modernise their infrastructure, improve performance, and unlock new capabilities through cloud transformation. The impact? Faster innovation, reduced operational complexity, and enhanced experiences for students and staff. The role is remote with the occasional travel to one of our offices, either Hessle, Sheffield or Bristol.
The Role
As a Cloud Solution Architect, you’ll play a pivotal role in designing and delivering cloud-based solutions for our SITS platform. You’ll work closely with internal teams and clients to ensure solutions are robust, secure, and aligned with best practices. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and implementing cloud architecture for SITS deployments.
- Collaborating with clients to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Ensuring solutions meet security, compliance, and performance standards.
- Providing technical leadership and guidance to project teams.
- Developing documentation and best practice guidelines for cloud deployments.
- Supporting migration strategies from on‑premises to cloud environments.
- Staying up to date with emerging cloud technologies and recommend improvements.
The Skills You’ll Need:
- Proven experience in cloud architecture (Azure or AWS preferred).
- Strong understanding of networking, security, and identity management in cloud environments.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of enterprise software deployment and integration.
It Would Be Great If You Had:
- Experience with higher education systems or student information platforms.
- Familiarity with automation tools and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, ARM templates).
- Certification in cloud architecture (Azure Solutions Architect or AWS equivalent).
