At the sportscotland institute of sport, we are seeking a Performance Psychology Lead to oversee and manage the day‑to‑day deployment, delivery, and impact of applied performance psychology support to performance invested sports. You will work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners at both national and regional levels to ensure athletes and coaches receive world class psychological support.
As a member of the Athletic Performance Management Team, you will contribute to the development and operational delivery of cross functional support for performance invested sports. This includes balancing direct delivery to individual athletes with strategic support to sports as they develop their performance pathways and performance development environments.
To be considered for this role, you must hold a PhD or master’s degree with a major focus in sports psychology, have high‑performance sport accreditation (or equivalent), and be registered with the HCPC. You will also be expected to demonstrate experience in leading, supervising, or managing psychology practitioners working within multidisciplinary support teams, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based practice across all service delivery.
This vacancy is full‑time with the day‑to‑day workload focused within the Scottish performance system therefore delivery will be a blend of home working and travel. A full driving licence is essential, as is the ability to travel independently between sportscotland sites.
