At the sportscotland institute of sport, we are seeking a Performance Psychologist (Level 2) to deliver high-quality, evidence-informed psychological support within Scotland's high-performance sport system.
Working with colleagues and partners at national and regional level, you will help athletes, coaches and performance leads to enhance performance and development through effective psychological support.
Responsibilities
- Provide applied support to prioritised athletes, coaches and performance environments.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary planning and delivery.
- Communicate priorities and support plans with key stakeholders.
- Contribute to sport review processes and help monitor and evaluate the impact of support.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and quality of Performance Psychology provision.
Qualifications
- Ph D or master's degree with a major focus in sport psychology.
- BPS/CASES accredited and hold high-performance sport accreditation (or equivalent).
- Registered with the HCPC.
- Significant experience as a Performance Psychology practitioner in high-performance sport, working with athletes, coaches and multidisciplinary teams across a range of sports.
- Strong understanding of holistic performance support, including positive mental health, wellbeing and welfare.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, evidence-informed practice.
This is a full-time post involving a blend of home working and travel across the Scottish performance system.
A full driving licence and the ability to travel independently between sportscotland sites are essential.
Maintain accurate and secure athlete and service records in line with professional standards and engage in continuing professional development.
*Please note successful candidates will be appointed at the entry point of the salary band.
