JOY Maker Volunteer Programme for the Grand Départ 2027
Do you want to be part of history? We are recruiting 9,000 volunteers to welcome the world to Great Britain for a once‑in‑a‑generation Grand Départ.
Our team of JOY Makers will be a key part of making next summer’s Tour de France and Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift so special.
Be available for at least one day of the event; dates can be found via the website.
Be aged 16+ by 1 April 2027.
Be willing to learn and be happy to complete all training required before volunteering.
Have a real enthusiasm for welcoming and talking to visitors.

10 different roles available which fall under race delivery and spectator support roles.
Applications close on the 1st September 2027, so please apply prior to this date to avoid disappointment.
Easy Read applications are available online and the application platform has the User Way feature to allow for adjustments of the display if required.
We do not accept group applications due to the operational scale of the event.
If someone requires support in the case of a support worker, personal assistant or carer this can be noted on their application. We do require the support worker, personal assistant or carer to also apply as a JOY Maker.
This is a volunteer opportunity for the event, not a paid role.
