Since 2017, British Dodgeball has grown into a resilient and ambitious organisation with an exciting future. As we continue to strengthen our Board and governance structures, we are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking professional to join us as an Independent Non-Executive Director – Governance & Risk, supporting strong oversight and effective risk management across the organisation.
About the Role
This is a voluntary position, with all reasonable travel and subsistence expenses reimbursed.
- Time commitment: Approximately 2–3 days per month (5–6 Board meetings per year)
- Term: 3 years (maximum of two terms)
- Location: England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, or Wales
Key Requirements Include
- Strong understanding of corporate governance principles
- Senior experience in governance, risk management, compliance, or audit
- Experience identifying and monitoring organisational risk and risk appetite
- Ability to scrutinise internal controls and assurance mechanisms
- Understanding of regulatory and compliance pressures affecting sports bodies
- High integrity, sound judgement, and strong communication skills
- Commitment to good governance, equality, and safeguarding
As a Board Director, you will also fulfil Company Director responsibilities in accordance with the Companies Act 2006 and contribute to the strategic oversight of British Dodgeball.
