About the Role
We’re looking for a proactive and detail-driven Finance Assistant to join our Finance Department on a part-time basis. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the club.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the full range of finance department duties, including purchase ledger, sales ledger, and general bookkeeping
- Support month-end tasks such as reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with internal controls
- Assist with matchday and event-related financial processes where required
- Respond to finance-related queries from internal teams and external partners
- Support the Finance Manager with ad-hoc tasks and projects
About You
We’re looking for someone who brings both competence and initiative. You’ll be comfortable managing your own workload and adapting to shifting priorities – football clubs move quickly.
Essential skills and experience
- Experience working in a fast-paced finance role
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload
- Good attention to detail and accuracy in financial tasks
- Confident using finance systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
Desirable (but not essential)
- Part-qualified accountant
