  • Club Development within Edinburgh's sports clubs, supporting clubs to grow, modernise and become more inclusive.
  • Community Sport Hubs, ensuring sport plays a meaningful role in addressing local needs and inequalities in communities that need it the most.

This is an opportunity to shape how sport contributes to wellbeing, inclusion and participation across the city.

About the Role

You will work with clubs, third‑sector partners, schools and local communities to develop sustainable, inclusive, community‑led club sport opportunities. The role requires strong collaboration skills, the ability to manage competing priorities, and a commitment to social justice and equality. This role is for an initial 2-year period due to funding partnership timelines. However, we anticipate this role will be made permanent after this period.

What You'll Bring

A strong track record in supporting sports clubs to become more inclusive, community‑focused and well‑governed underpins this role. Experience working with senior leaders, partners, volunteers and local organisations will enable the development of positive relationships that help clubs grow and modernise. Programmes you lead will be shaped through effective use of data and community insight, with impact evidenced and improvements driven through ongoing engagement with young people, families and community groups.

You'll bring a clear understanding of how to strengthen governance, volunteer development and financial models, supporting clubs and hubs to be strong, sustainable, safe and inclusive organisations that increase participation and inclusion. A solid grasp of the social impact of sport, the purpose of Community Sport Hubs and the wider priorities for physical activity in Edinburgh and nationally. You'll develop sport‑led projects that are delivered in ways that respond to local need and make a meaningful difference in communities. A commitment to equality, diversity and stigma‑free practice sits at the heart of the approach, supported by an energetic, proactive mindset focused on enabling clubs and communities to thrive.
