Members can take part in an extensive programme of instructor‑led group fitness classes in our dedicated studio, alongside a full timetable of virtual Les Mills classes streamed on the big screen for added flexibility and choice. Our modern 25‑metre swimming pool is complemented by a relaxing sauna, steam room and viewing gallery. There is also a separate teaching pool, providing the ideal setting for our youngest Learn to Swim participants to build confidence and develop essential water skills. Above all, we are committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive environment where every member and visitor feels supported and valued.

We’re looking for a passionate and proactive Duty Manager to join our team at Xcite Whitburn. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with proven supervisory experience who’s ready to lead from the front and make a meaningful impact in the local community.

Your Role: As Duty Manager, you’ll be at the heart of our daily operations, with a particular focus on all things leisure centre. That includes managing the facility, programming, and staff — ensuring everything runs smoothly, safely, and to the highest standards. This role requires strong leadership and leisure management skills, alongside hands‑on experience.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and supporting the team, ensuring excellent service delivery and safety
  • Supporting the wider facility and deputising for the Area Manager when needed
  • Ensuring a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all our visitors

Essential qualifications and experience:

  • 1–2 years supervisory experience
  • A passion for providing outstanding customer service and team leadership
  • Successful study to HNC level or equivalent level in work experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good administrative skills with the ability to write reports & letters
  • First Aid at Work
  • Experience in budget management, health and safety audits, and programme planning
  • Familiarity with leisure management systems
