Are you a motivated and enthusiastic student looking for a rewarding work-based placement in the sport and physical activity sector? Inverclyde Active Schools, a part of Inverclyde Council, is offering an exciting Practice Placement opportunity for a proactive student to join our team.
About Inverclyde Active Schools:
Active Schools aims to provide more and higher quality opportunities for children and young people to participate in sport and physical activity before, during, and after school. We also work to develop effective pathways between schools and local sports clubs across Inverclyde. Our team of Active Schools Coordinators are based within all high school clusters in Inverclyde.
- Placements available from October 2025 to April 2026
- Hours typically 1200-1300 and 1500-1600. Events work likely to be during 0900-1500.
- Location: On-site, typically within schools, various locations across Inverclyde
Placement Tasks:
- Complete all placement hours agreed with Active Schools
- Deliver within extracurricular clubs within school settings.
- Support / deliver Active School\'s competitions and events
- Communication and ongoing dialogue with Active Schools\' team
What We Are Looking For (Desirable):
Skills & Strengths:
- Passion for developing opportunities to support children and young people
Experience:
- Some experience of working with children in education, sport, health, leisure, and/or recreation
- Knowledge of the Active Schools Programme
Qualifications & Training:
- Pursuing a qualification in Sports Development, Sports Coaching, or related field.
