Hours: Casual position - zero-hours contract. You will be offered work when available based upon the academy schedule, which will include weekends, matchdays and mid-week evening clinics.

Heart of Midlothian Football Club is a Premiership Scottish Professional Football Club based in Edinburgh with Elite Academy Status. The Club is looking to recruit an Academy Physiotherapist and Academy Sport Therapist on a casual basis, to cover home academy matchdays which take place at Oriam in Edinburgh. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing pitch-side cover during matchdays across our academy squads ensuring appropriate assessment and treatment of injuries is provided to players.

Academy Physiotherapist / Sport Therapist Responsibilities:
- Provide physiotherapy/sports therapy cover during academy matchdays including emergency on-pitch care and treatment when required.
- Liaise with the Lead Academy Physiotherapist and Academy Coaches to assess players’ health status and contribute to informed decision-making on players’ fitness and readiness to train or play.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the performance department including doctors, sport scientists, nutritionists, and other specialists.
- Ensure adequate handover notes are provided to the Lead Academy Physiotherapy following any matchdays attended.
- On occasion, provide physiotherapy cover of players during evening clinics at the Clubs training facilities including diagnosis, acute care and treatment, and short to long-term rehabilitation from injury. This includes the design and delivery of both pitch and gym-based exercise programmes.
Essential Experience, Qualifications & Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy or equivalent.
- HCPC registered physiotherapist or member of The Society of Sports Therapists.
- Valid pitch-side care qualification such as NSFA, sportPROMOTE or SCRUMCAPS.
- Experience of providing pitch-side care (Desirable).
- Postgraduate qualification in Physiotherapy (Desirable).
- Currently based in Edinburgh or can reliably commute to Edinburgh and other locations as per the needs of the position.
- Able to evidence the Legal Right to Work in the UK.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to professional development.
- A strong work ethic with a passion for football.
- Excellent timekeeping and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- A high standard of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Confident IT user with basic computer skills.
