We are seeking a full-time Loss Control Specialist in our Iowa territory region and would love for you to bring your experience to our team! Starting salary commensurate with applicable experience.
Job Summary: Responsible for providing Loss Control services for clients to improve the risk associated with their business and help control the adverse effect of a loss. The client's information must be provided to the Underwriting Department for proper evaluation of the client's risk.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Conducts Loss Control surveys assigned to clients at least once a year to gather underwriting information and assess any changes in risk.
- Provides the client with recommendations resulting from the surveys to help them improve risk exposures.
- Reviews values on client's facilities and equipment to maintain proper insurable value.
- Responds to the underwriting, claims, sales departments, or management on special requests for information on unusual hazards or occupancies.
- Conduct safety training to help improve clients’ safety practices.
- Investigate major losses to determine the cause of contributing factors to help reduce or limit future losses.
- Assists in the claims department and the client as needed.
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with clients on behalf of Triangle Insurance.
- Regular and sustained attendance.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.

- Possess the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Possess the skill and ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products, as well as the ability to effectively use other industries and company database systems and software.
Education – Licensing - Certifications - Experience:
- Proven knowledge of the principles of exposure, safety, environment, construction, etc., as normally acquired through undergraduate studies in science, engineering, insurance, business, or Agri-related courses and/or two to four years of related business experience.
- Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Meet the professional certification or licensing requirements of state and local jurisdiction (in which assigned) for providing safety and health consultative services within a period of time specified and agreed upon at the time of employment.
