This is a varied, customer-focused role supporting the day-to-day sales and order-processing activities of Triangle Cables and our sister company, Powersure Connections.

The Role

The position will involve communicating with existing and potential customers, processing orders and enquiries, and maintaining accurate records.

You will also help us develop relationships with customers in the UK and overseas.

This may include contacting prospective customers, following up enquiries and introducing our products and services to businesses operating within relevant industries.

Full product and systems training will be provided, so previous industry experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer enquiries by telephone and email.
  • Prepare quotations and process customer orders accurately.
  • Enter and maintain customer, product and order information.
  • Contact existing and prospective customers to introduce products and identify sales opportunities.
  • Follow up quotations, enquiries and previous customer conversations.
  • Provide customers with order updates, availability information and general assistance.
  • Record clear and accurate notes from customer calls and correspondence.
  • Direct technical or commercial enquiries to the appropriate colleague.
  • Support the continued development of the UK and overseas customer base.
  • Assist with general sales office and administrative duties.
  • Help maintain organised customer records and internal documentation.
  • Work closely with colleagues in sales, purchasing, production and dispatch to support customer requirements.

Skills and Experience

Experience in sales administration, customer service, telesales, order processing or office administration would be an advantage, but is not essential, as full training will be provided.

A good telephone manner, basic computer skills and the confidence to communicate professionally with customers are essential.

You should be

  • Friendly, confident and comfortable speaking with customers.
  • Organised and able to manage several tasks accurately.
  • A clear communicator by telephone and email.
  • Self-motivated, reliable and willing to take responsibility for your work.
  • Flexible and comfortable working within a varied role.
  • Keen to learn about our products, customers and industries.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a small team.
  • Positive and proactive when identifying opportunities to assist customers or support sales.

This position would suit someone looking to develop a career in sales and customer service within an established, family-run business.

It offers the opportunity to learn about specialist industrial products, build relationships with customers and contribute to the continued growth of two closely connected companies.
