Recruitment Consultant - Business Support Division

At Trial Balance Consulting, alongside our sister business Well Placed HR, we've built our business on a simple belief: recruitment should be done properly.

We believe clients deserve genuine value for money, candidates should feel they're more than just another placement and our own team should enjoy coming to work knowing they're supported, trusted and valued.

It's a philosophy that's served us well for almost 20 years, and now we're looking for someone to help write the next chapter.

This is a brand-new role, giving you the opportunity to take ownership of an established, warm Business Support desk across Cornwall and the wider South West.

You'll inherit an active client base and candidate network, giving you every opportunity to make an immediate impact while continuing to grow the desk in your own way.

  • What you'll be doing
  • Managing and developing a warm Business Support desk
  • Building lasting relationships with clients and candidates
  • Managing the recruitment process from vacancy brief through to placement
  • Developing new business opportunities alongside an established client base
  • Delivering an honest, consultative recruitment service

About you

Previous recruitment experience would be ideal, but we're equally interested in people from sales, account management or other customer-focused backgrounds.

You'll be organised, commercially minded, a confident communicator and someone who enjoys building genuine relationships.

  • What you’ll get in return
  • Competitive basic salary with realistic on-target earnings of £40,000-£50,000, with uncapped commission - meaning exceptional performance can deliver significantly more
  • Hybrid working (typically one day a week from home)
  • Modern offices on the outskirts of Truro with free parking
  • Apple technology and a cloud-based way of working
  • Relaxed dress code
  • Endless Nespresso, generous holiday entitlement, including your birthday off and Christmas shutdown
  • Well-behaved dogs welcome by agreement
  • A genuinely supportive, close-knit team where your contribution really matters

We're not interested in growing for the sake of it.

We recruit carefully because we want people to build long-term careers with us, and we believe great recruitment starts with great people.

If you're looking for a recruitment business where integrity matters just as much as performance, and earning £40,000-£50,000 is a realistic expectation rather than an exaggerated promise, we'd love to hear from you
