Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have been re-engaged by a long-standing client, a highly successful and expanding engineering business, to recruit an experienced Payroll Manager. This is a senior-level, permanent appointment within their large, friendly, and highly experienced finance team.
This role carries full responsibility for managing the company's substantial payroll, currently spanning multiple divisions, and will be supported by an experienced Payroll Officer. With a new accounts and payroll system about to be implemented, you will play a key part in identifying and advising on potential process improvements, helping to ensure a smooth and effective transition.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for both weekly and monthly payrolls, ensuring accuracy and compliance with strict deadlines.
- Provide detailed payroll cost analysis and reporting for senior management.
- Ensure full compliance with all statutory payroll and pension legislation.
- Lead on implementing system improvements and process efficiencies.
- Manage, mentor, and develop payroll team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
The successful candidate will be an accomplished Payroll Manager with proven experience managing large, multi-division payrolls. You will have strong leadership skills and a track record of supporting and developing staff, along with in-depth knowledge of payroll and pension legislation. Ideally, you will bring recent experience of cloud-based payroll and T&A systems, and you will be a highly organised communicator, confident engaging with stakeholders at senior level.
