A well-established and highly regarded accountancy practice is looking to recruit an experienced Practice Accountant to join its friendly team in Redruth. This is an excellent opportunity to take responsibility for your own workload, whilst continuing to develop your technical and client-facing skills.
As Practice Accountant, key responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining accurate accounting records and supporting clients with their day-to-day bookkeeping requirements
- Preparing VAT returns and ensuring information is complete and submitted within required deadlines
- Producing year-end accounts for a varied portfolio, including limited companies, partnerships and sole traders
- Dealing directly with client queries and developing strong, professional working relationships
- Supporting colleagues with ad-hoc accounting work and contributing to the wider success of the practice
- Keeping up-to-date with relevant technical developments and taking part in on-going training and professional development
The successful Practice Accountant candidate will have:
- Previous experience gained within an accountancy practice, alongside a good understanding of accounts preparation, bookkeeping and VAT.
- An AAT qualification or equivalent would be advantageous, although strong practical experience will also be considered.
- You’ll be organised, accurate and confident managing your own workload, whilst also being comfortable contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Strong communication skills, a professional approach and good working knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Office will be important.
