Trial Balance are working with a long-standing client, a leading accountancy practice who have multiple offices in the region, in their search for a Payroll Assistant to join their team in Plymouth.

Joining a growing bureau payroll team, you will play a key role in providing an efficient and effective payroll administration service for a wide range of clients. Your duties as a Payroll Assistant will include:

  • Managing end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring all payroll deadlines are achieved
  • Maintaining and updating payroll information using payroll systems and internal databases
  • Administering statutory deductions including PAYE, National Insurance, pensions, student loans and other payroll-related adjustments
  • Processing payroll changes including new starters, leavers, salary amendments, holiday calculations and employee record updates
  • Producing payroll reports and supporting compliance with HMRC legislation and pension auto-enrolment requirements
  • Resolving payroll queries and discrepancies for both employees and clients in a timely manner
  • Ensuring payroll records are accurate, up-to-date and maintained in line with company procedures and compliance standards
  • Providing wider administrative support to the office and broader team as required
