Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have been exclusively reengaged by a past client and very longstanding employer, a respected logistics business based in Penzance. The business currently seeks to recruit a part time Management Accountant to join them on a part time, permanent basis. The role is anticipated to operate over a flexible 30 hour working week with working patterns to be discussed. The company also promotes a hybrid working arrangement following initial training with details to be discussed with shortlisted candidates.

Working as part of an established and efficient accounting team and reporting to a highly experienced Finance Manager and CFO, the role represents a great opportunity for an existing Management Accountant or an Assistant Accountant seeking a step up in responsibilities with a focus on the production of high quality management reports. Key responsibilities to include:

– Production of high quality financial management reports for a business with multiple income streams

– Assist in the production of year-end financial accounts

– Continued development of the company’s accounting systems

– HMRC reporting

– Journals, accruals and prepayments

– Review of accounts payable, receivable and nominal ledger transactions

– Reconciliation of tangible stock

– Assist with year-end audit

– Assist with ongoing accounting projects and provide cover for finance colleagues

For this role we seek a motivated and career driven Assistant/Management Accountant with at least 12-24 months of recently gained experience in a similar capacity, or moving from practice to industry. Candidates may be part/fully AAT/professionally qualified or suitably qualified through vocational experience. The company is keen to develop digital system improvements so good IT aptitude and excellent MS Excel skills essential. This is a highly visible role that works with an energetic team and liaises with colleagues throughout the business so excellent communication/interpersonal skills required.
