Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to be exclusively assisting a Cornish business with an impressive history of growth. The business has been established for almost 3 decades and specialises in the manufacture and distribution of high quality, highly sought-after consumer products to a rapidly expanding customer base in the UK, EU, North America and Canada. Business has been very good, particularly in recent years where they have seen sales increase more than 300% and have been largely unaffected by the pandemic. With an increasing head count and newly built facilities in the making, there has never been a better time to join them.
They’re seeking a Management Accountant to join their small and well-established finance team. The role reports to the company’s Financial Controller but will also work closely within a team of four finance staff. The key focus of the role being to act as the FC's “right hand person” with a varied and interesting range of duties including:
- The production of monthly management accounts
- Production of quarterly VAT returns
- Oversee and maintain sales and purchase ledger activities
- Bank reconciliations
- Fixed asset register maintenance
- Assisting with statutory accounting procedures
- Deputise to the FC during periods of leave or absence
The finance function is 100% paperless and the company has invested very heavily into its IT structure using SAP as their accounting platform (full training provided if the successful candidate lacks experience in this area). Team fit is absolutely crucial in this role. The company promotes a genuinely friendly, supportive but passionate work ethic and the successful candidate will liaise with colleagues across all divisions of the business. From a technical point of view, we’re hoping to source a candidate with suitable working experience with good management accounting and general finance experience, ideally fully or part professionally qualified (ongoing support towards CIMA studies may be available where appropriate). Great IT competence and good experience in MS Excel essential.
Please note that due to the rural trading location of this business own transport will be essential.
