Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have been exclusively engaged to source a talented Management Accountant to join one of Barnstaple’s most sought after employers; a highly successful specialist manufacturing business with a global portfolio of high profile customers. This newly created role represents a superb opportunity for a dynamic and ambitious Management Accountant who seeks long term career development with a business that offers almost limitless potential for progression. The position is offered as a permanent contract and will be based from the company’s headquarters in Barnstaple. This is a full time role of approximately 39 hours to operate over a flexible 4 day working week meaning that the successful candidate will not be required to work each Friday!

Reporting to a highly experienced Finance Director, the role will work as part of a small but highly efficient team, where most transactional functions are administered by a shared services team. This allows the onsite team to focus on producing high quality management information in line with a typical manufacturing life-cycle. This will be a varied and interesting position where the successful candidate will be a recognised face across the site, developing key relationships with department managers throughout the business.

Core focus of the role to include:

  • Production of high quality management accounts with accompanying commentary
  • Work closely with production team to lead and influence on the importance of costing controls
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Financial analysis to include P&L and balance sheet control
  • Stock control reporting
  • Variance analysis and reporting
  • Assist Finance Director with budgeting and forecasting reports
  • Margin analysis
  • Assist in all areas of finance at year end and in preparation for external audit

For this role we’re seeking an experienced candidate with a good understanding of manufacturing processes, ideally fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or with very strong vocational experience. This is not a role for a “back-office accountant”, it’s a role for a forward thinking, personable and commercially minded individual who would relish the opportunity to add value to a rapidly advancing business. Suitable applicants should possess several years of recently gained exposure in a manufacturing environment and will ideally have experience working closely with teams. The company has invested heavily in technology and the Management Accountant will require sound IT aptitude and strong MS Excel skills.

This is an interesting and prosperous business and this opportunity represents a great time to join their friendly team.
