If you're a qualified accountant looking for a genuinely varied and senior finance role that combines hands on company accounting with high level group consolidations, this is a rare opportunity in Cornwall and one well worth your attention.
I'm working with a well-established and internationally operating business based in Falmouth that is looking for an exceptional finance professional to take ownership of both the day to day accounting function and the wider group financial reporting.
- This is a dual focused role with real breadth and seniority, encompassing:
- Full hands on responsibility for all bookkeeping, transaction posting, bank reconciliations, VAT returns, client invoicing and payment management for two UK trading companies, using Xero.
- Overseeing monthly payroll and credit control, ensuring the day to day finance function runs accurately, efficiently and to deadlines.
- Preparation of monthly management accounts for the UK trading companies, with full ownership of the numbers from start to finish.
- Preparation of monthly consolidated group management accounts across the wider international business, a critical element of the role requiring both technical expertise and the ability to work across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
- Budget preparation for the UK trading companies and the consolidated group, supporting strategic planning and financial decision making at the highest level.
- Working closely with external accountants on statutory reporting, year end accounts preparation and tax matters.
The ideal candidate will be fully qualified, ACA, ACCA or CIMA, with demonstrable experience across both hands on company accounting and group consolidations.
The consolidations element is central to this role and candidates without solid consolidation experience are unlikely to be considered.
Advanced Excel skills are essential, and experience with modern accounting systems, particularly Xero, is strongly preferred.
You'll be comfortable operating at both a transactional and strategic level, managing competing priorities and delivering accurate, timely reporting to senior stakeholders including board level.
This is a minimum four days per week office-based role in Falmouth, with the fifth day offering flexibility for the right candidate.
The business has an international footprint with offices across the UK, Asia and beyond, and there is genuine scope for the right person to grow both the role and their own position within the group over time.
If you're a technically strong, hands on qualified accountant who thrives on variety and is looking for a senior role with real substance in Cornwall, I'd encourage you to apply.
