Trial Balance Consulting is exclusively partnering with a well-established organisation based in Hayle to recruit a Senior Finance Assistant. This position has become available due to internal promotion, demonstrating the organisation’s commitment to employee development and progression.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Senior Finance Assistant will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of the finance function, with responsibility for a broad range of accounting and finance duties. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting day-to-day accounting operations using Sage
  • Assisting with preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Preparing supplier payment runs and monitoring cashflow
  • Supporting HMRC submissions, payroll, and pension administration
  • Providing support and cover for the Finance Manager when required

Candidate requirements:

The successful candidate will have previous experience working in a finance role with exposure to core accounting processes and will be comfortable managing a varied workload. You will have experience using accounting software and possess good general IT skills, alongside strong attention to detail and a proactive, organised approach. Experience with VAT processes and stock accounting or web-based inventory systems would be advantageous but is not essential.
