Job Description:

Temporary Financial Accountant (Urgent!) – Nr. Cullompton – Circa £50k (Negotiable)

Trial Balance Consulting have been assigned by a previous client, a unique retail focussed business, to assist in their urgent search for an experienced Accountant to join their team. This full-time role is being offered as a 3-month contract, with an almost immediate start required!

Working closely alongside an experienced and very friendly Financial Controller, and supported by a small transactional finance team, this role will span all areas of the end-to-end finance function. Key responsibilities to include:

– Assist in the preparation of detailed monthly management reports/accounts with accompanying commentary

– Act as a key point of contact for annual internal and external audits

– Produce high quality and timely financial reporting packs in line with FCA requirements

– Production of accurate VAT reports for both UK and EU entities

– Produce cash flow statements and general forecasts

– Maintenance of the fixed asset register

– Assisting with ongoing accounting projects

– Deputise for the Financial Controller where required, assuming line management for a small team

For this role we are seeking to attract candidates with a strong understanding of end-to-end accounting processes. Candidates should be fully professionally qualified and be confident in hitting the ground running. Candidates should possess strong general IT aptitude (and be highly competent in the use of MS Excel). A knowledge of multi-currency transaction, and EU VAT would also be desirable, though not essential.

The role works within a highly energetic team that will recognise the value of an additional accountant in the building, so strong communication skills and commercial awareness will be a must!
