Trial Balance Consulting have been exclusively engaged by a long-standing client, a highly successful and rapidly expanding architecturally focused business, to recruit a Temporary Assistant Accountant for a 3-month interim assignment.

The role is offered on a temporary basis and will be full time, although candidates seeking a reduced working week (4 days / 30 hours) will also be considered. The position will be based onsite at the company’s impressive new headquarters on the outskirts of Redruth.

Working closely with the Finance Director, the successful candidate will support the day-to-day finance function, assisting with core bookkeeping and accounting activity. This is a hands-on interim role, well suited to an experienced Assistant Accountant who can hit the ground running.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Finance Director with day-to-day accounting activity
  • Taking responsibility for accounts payable and receivable
  • Completing timely and accurate bank reconciliations
  • Ensuring internal controls and aged debtor procedures are followed
  • Maintaining accurate invoicing and billing processes
  • Producing regular debtor and ledger reports with commentary
  • Using and maintaining digital accounting tools, identifying opportunities for process improvement

We’re seeking a capable and adaptable finance professional with recent experience in a similar role and the confidence to work autonomously where required. Exposure to aged debtor management would be beneficial, though a proactive mindset and willingness to get stuck in are equally important.

Candidates may be AAT part or fully qualified, or qualified by experience, with a minimum of 12 months’ recent relevant experience. Person fit remains key, this is a small, busy team and the successful candidate will need to be organised, approachable and comfortable working closely with others.
