We are delighted to have been engaged by a highly innovative and internationally operating organisation to recruit a Project Accountant for a key assignment within their Cornwall based operation. The business delivers large scale, complex projects across multiple global locations and is known for its collaborative culture, strong project governance and commitment to excellence.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to take ownership of the financial management of a major long term project. Working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate reporting, robust financial controls and effective forecasting throughout the project lifecycle. The role is primarily Cornwall based, but there is flexibility for hybrid and remote working arrangements depending on the needs of the successful candidate.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing day to day accounting activities for a major project
- Acting as the finance point of contact for the client and overseeing the client funding process
- Ensuring all financial controls and contractual requirements are consistently met
- Leading month end close processes and producing accurate, timely reporting
- Maintaining rolling financial forecasts and preparing weekly cashflow projections
- Overseeing project invoicing and reviewing all customer invoices before issue
- Working closely with procurement and contracts teams to align payment terms and cashflow
- Supporting external audit activity and in country tax compliance requirements
We are seeking a qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) with experience in project driven environments, ideally including experience acting as a finance point of contact for clients or external stakeholders. You will bring excellent communication skills, strong Excel capability, high attention to detail and a proactive, solutions focused approach. Experience with MS Dynamics NAV or similar platforms would be an advantage.
