Trial Balance Consulting have been engaged by a past client, a well-established specialist services business and a true Cornish success story. The company has multiple income streams with operations in Cornwall and throughout the UK, all of which have generated a sizeable increase in sales. The business now seeks to recruit an experienced Finance Assistant to join them for a 6 month fixed term contract.
This is an interesting and broad role that will work as a small team, working closely alongside an experienced Financial Controller in all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the business. Key responsibilities of the role include;
– Assist the FC in compiling management information with commentary
– Act as a key point of contact to both suppliers and key customers
– Work closely with the Financial Controller, in all aspects of managing the day-to-day financial health of the group
– Take a lead role in managing the accounts payable function
– Assume a variety of transactional responsibilities to include bank reconciliations, fixed asset and balance sheet reconciliations, invoicing and daily/weekly/monthly transactions
– Support FC/FD in preparation of annual audit
– VAT reporting
– Assist with monthly payroll processing
– Provide support to finance team during absences
For this role we seek a motivated and career driven Finance Assistant with at least two years of recently gained experience in a similar capacity. Candidates may be part/fully AAT qualified or suitably qualified through vocational experience. The company is technology focussed, currently using a SAGE Based platform, so applicants should possess good IT aptitude and problem solving skills. This is a highly visible role that works with an energetic team and liaises with colleagues throughout the business so excellent communication/interpersonal skills required.
