Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have been engaged to assist the business in recruiting a talented Head of Finance to join their accounting team, a role of pivotal importance and one that will open-up infinite vocational opportunities for the right candidate.
This is a role for a highly motivated and ambitious accountant with exceptional commercial awareness. By business partnering with the senior management team, the successful candidate will provide detailed information, analysis and recommendations relating to the financial position and course of their business unit. The Head of Finance will take a lead in the end-to-end financial lifecycle of for a number of business units to include all aspects of budgeting, reporting (financial and management), variance analysis and reporting on KPIs. Key responsibilities to include:
– Take a lead role in supervising and developing all aspects of financial planning – analytics, P&L forecasting, budget planning, cash flow forecasting etc.
– Produce detailed monthly reports on financial processes and performance
– Financial modelling & budgeting
– Business partnering with full commentary on P&L reviews
– Budgeting and forecasting
– Develop and implement cost saving initiatives
– Commentate to SMT on company performance
– Support new investment strategies through financial reporting
The role would be well suited to a part or fully professionally candidate (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), or a candidate possessing good vocational experience in a similar role and who possesses demonstrable experience in both technical and commercial financial reporting. The role requires complex modelling and long-term forecasting skills alongside sound IT capability and the ability to quickly master bespoke accounting packages. This is a role that sits both in and out of the core financial function and the ability to converse clearly with the SMT and department heads will be essential. A problem-solving attitude and a genuine desire to improve and streamline processes would fit in very well within the business.
