Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have been exclusively engaged by a long standing client, a highly regarded and fast growing motor dealership based in Yeovil. This is a brand new role that joins a business with superb staff retention so the company are keen to secure a candidate that will remain for the long term! This is a full time, permanent position to be offered with a competitive base salary, company vehicle and a host of excellent financial/non-financial benefits.
Working closely with a very friendly and highly experienced board of directors, the successful candidate will assume the finance-number-one position within the company, regularly liaising with department managers, major suppliers and managing a small but efficient finance team. Key responsibilities to include:
- Manage, mentor and develop a small team of finance colleagues ensuring excellent CPD
- Production of high quality reporting packs with commentary - management accounts, P&L reports, performance against budgets, KPI analysis etc.
- Lead in the production of statutory accounts, VAT preparation, accruals & pre payments, stock valuations etc.
- Budget production with directors
- Cashflow analysis and management
- Regularly liaise with external stakeholders - vehicle manufacturers, banks and financiers, chartered accountants etc.
- Design, implement and develop future proof initiatives to improve the streamlining of the finance function and company processes
Who are we looking for? The successful candidate will, at the very least, hold full AAT or be part/fully professionally qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), and have strong all round vocational experience, ideally operating at Finance Manager level. Previous experience gained within a motor dealership would be advantageous but by no means essential and our client is happy to consider candidates from most services or retail sectors. The business is technology driven so excellent digital accounting (and MS Excel) experience essential. This will be a highly visible role that supports a large range of staff both in and out of finance so excellent general team working and interpersonal skills will be requisite!
