Financial Accountant – Exeter – Full time – Permanent – £38k – £45k – Excellent benefits + Hybrid
If you’re reading this ad and thinking that you’ve seen this before, you’d be right. We’ve actually just filled an identical role but this business is expanding so quickly that they’ve tasked us with finding another great candidate!
Financial accounting jobs in the southwest are some of the hardest for us recruiters to fill. Why? A) Because the area is not renowned for ‘breeding’ candidates with strong statutory accounting experience and B) Some candidates find the title off putting; assuming all analytical with no commercial orientation.
Our client understands the difficulty and they’re going out of their way to attract a suitable candidate. Who are they? One of Exeter’s most prestigious professional services businesses. A highly successful, very rapidly growing business with a global reach and infinite career potential. What are they prepared to do to attract the right people? They’ll offer remuneration and benefits that far exceed the Exeter average. They’ll offered a blended approach to office and home-based working. They’ll support professional study support, CPD and comprehensive L&D. But most importantly, they’re a business that can offer a genuinely long term, interesting career where ongoing development is open to those who want it, within the UK or potentially beyond.
What’s more, whilst the role will naturally focus on the statutory and corporate accounting side of things, it\’s actually broader than might meet the eye. Not only is the financial accounting aspect more interesting than most, but the role also includes a strong element of management accounts review, working closely with customers, mentoring and developing staff, and researching potential new income streams. Get in touch and we’ll furnish you with a detailed role specification.
What we’re looking for. There are two types of candidate that we’re focussing on: Existing financial accountants or those with strong analytical experience and practice-based candidates, ideally (though not essentially), with a background in audit/corporate finance who are seeking a quality opportunity in industry. A professional qualification is a must – ACA/ACCA/CIMA all appropriate, either recently qualified or 1-4 years PQE. Strong technical accounting skills, commercial awareness, experience of various reporting standards and a strong IT aptitude are essential criteria, as will be exceptional communication skills. Last but not least, a strong desire for career progression with a dynamic, “let’s solve this” attitude will be clincher.
Curious? Great, I’d love to tell you more. Please contact Dan Saunders quoting reference DS9620. All enquiries will be treated in the strictest of confidence and full client disclosure with additional vacancy information will be available to all potentially suited candidates.
