Finance & IT Manager – Saltash – Circa: Β£35,000

Trial Balance Consulting have been exclusively engaged by a new client, a specialist public services organisation with close ties to the NHS network in Cornwall. The organisation seeks to recruit a Finance Manager (with additional IT responsibilities), to join them in a newly created role. The position is offered as a full time, permanent contract to be based at the organisation’s headquarters in Saltash but with some potential for hybrid working to be discussed with shortlisted candidates. The role may entail a small amount of local travel across East Cornwall.

Working closely with the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will assume key responsibility for managing the organisations day-to-day financial controls and IT systems (software focussed rather than hardware). This will be a varied and interesting role that will allow the successful candidate to shape an efficient and streamlined function. Key responsibilities to include:

– Day-to-day bookkeeping using Xero software

– Production of financial breakdowns and statistics to aid the allocation of finances

– Production of management accounts for senior management team and Clinical Director (as well as satisfying transparency of accounting)

– Ensure adherence to all relevant guidelines and legislation

– Expenditure and budget management

– Administration of expenditure claims ensuring an accurate audit trail

– Management of the accounts payable and receivable function

– Payroll processing for onward submission to an external bureau

– Oversee the IT infrastructure ensuring that systems are efficient and streamlined

– Consider opportunities to enhance the organisations technology systems, adopting new digital tools where appropriate

– Provide IT support to colleagues

– Maintain the organisations website and intranet

For this role we seek an experienced Finance Manager, Bookkeeper or perhaps an Assistant Accountant looking to step up – either part/fully AAT/professionally qualified or qualified through vocational experience. The role combines both finance and IT responsibilities so experience in, or aptitude to manage technology systems will be essential. This is a highly visible role that will support a wide team so excellent interpersonal and team working skills will be essential.
