Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to be working with a long-standing client, a well-established and highly respected organisation, to source a proactive and hands-on Head of Finance. This is a particularly exciting opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional looking to step into a broad, senior leadership role with a clear and genuine pathway to FD in the future. This role is 100% site-based and is a key part of the senior management team, working closely with directors and playing a central role in both operational and strategic decision-making. The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the finance function, ensuring the delivery of accurate and timely financial information to support the business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing a small finance team
- Full ownership of day-to-day financial operations and controls
- Production of monthly management accounts for board-level review
- Cashflow management, budgeting and forecasting
- Oversight of VAT returns and statutory reporting
- Liaison with external auditors and key stakeholders
- Regular balance sheet and P&L reviews
- Oversight of payroll and pension processes
- Supporting wider business planning and development initiatives
